Brian undertakes all aspect of Industrial Relations and Employment Law for employers and has done so for over 25 years.
Brian graduated as a solicitor in 1981 and received his Master of Commerce Degree from Deakin University, Victoria, in 1992. Since then, he has qualified as an Accredited Specialist in Industrial Relations and Employment Law (1994) and received an Advanced Diploma (Mastering the Boardroom) from the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2009.
Before founding WilliamsonLegal (now known as WilliamsonBarwick) in August 2010, Brian was the Managing Director of another specialist workplace relations law firm, which he founded in 2003.
Prior to that Brian was the Founding Chairperson for the National Workplace Relations Practice Group of a major Australian legal practice.
Brian has a particular interest in strategic management and brings this focus to his clients, when dealing with their Workplace, Industrial Relations and Employment Law issues. Brian also undertakes senior staff training for clients.
Brian’s long standing Accredited Specialist standing has been acknowledged in 2014 by the NSW Law Society with its 20 year anniversary award.
Brian speaks regularly at international, national, state and local conferences and has been accorded “Expert Speaker” status by the CEO Institute.

Adrian commenced with Williamsonlegal (now known as WilliamsonBarwick) in the role of Special Counsel in July 2015.
In 1995, Adrian was admitted as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, having completed a Diploma of Law (SAB) in 1994. From 1995 to 2001, Adrian worked for a progressive Sydney plaintiff law firm, specialising in personal injury and insurance law. In 2001, he graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney with a Master of Laws, having majored in commercial law.
In 2005, Adrian qualified as a Law Society Accredited Specialist in Employment & Industrial Law. He has presented at state and national conferences on a range of topical issues falling within his field of expertise.
In the period 2001 to 2015, Adrian practised on his own account and then with a boutique commercial law firm, providing advice and representation in a wide range of Employment Law matters to employees and a select number of employer clients. Adrian developed a wealth of employment litigation experience in that time, frequently acting as advocate for his clients. He has advised clients engaged in a broad range of private sector industries from manufacturing and mining through to professional services, as well as clients employed in the public sector and not-for-profit organisations.
Adrian brings a strategic approach to Employment Law practice in his role as Special Counsel and is committed to supporting the firm’s clients to sleep well at night.

Lucinda joined the team at WilliamsonBarwick in September 2017.
Lucinda was admitted as a legal practitioner in 1998 after receiving Bachelor degrees in both Law (Honours) and Economics from the University of Sydney. She subsequently received her Master of Laws degree in 2004 from the University of Sydney.
Before joining WilliamsonBarwick, Lucinda gained extensive experience providing strategic employment and workplace relations law advice, having worked within this specialty at several law firms. In her early career, Lucinda gained significant advocacy experience while undertaking employment law work for both senior executives and employers. Lucinda shifted to solely advising employer clients as a Senior Associate for four years at a leading boutique workplace law practice and as a Senior Associate in the Employment & Industrial Law team at Minter Ellison for one year.
By melding her legal expertise with commercial acumen, Lucinda enjoys providing appropriate advice to assist clients to achieve commercial outcomes. She values strong client relationships and appreciates that each client’s workplace has its own culture and challenges.
After returning to legal practice after a career break, Lucinda is now working with the team at WilliamsonBarwick on a full range of employment related matters including policy and employment contract drafting, advising on restructures and terminations, ill employees, discrimination, employee entitlements, performance management, post-employment obligations and workplace investigations.

Anika joined the team at WilliamsonBarwick in February 2019.
Anika graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business (majoring in Management) from Griffith University in 2017 and subsequently completed her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the Queensland University of Technology.
Anika was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in November 2018.
Before commencing with WillamsonBarwick and whilst she was completing her studies, Anika worked for a Queensland based boutique employment law firm where she was involved in assisting with matters for both employer and employee clients. It was the nature of the work in which Anika was exposed to that instilled Anika’s passion for employment law.
Since joining the team at WilliamsonBarwick, Anika works with Adrian on a range of matters including the drafting of employment contracts, reviewing and interpreting Awards, preparing Court documentation, assisting with the termination of employment, defending unfair dismissal / adverse action cases in the Industrial Relations Commission or Fair Work Commission and assisting with workplace investigations.

Sandra joined WilliamsonLegal (now known as WilliamsonBarwick) on its first day of operations and is our Office Manager. She is responsible for the day to day running of the office from general administration to sending accounts, managing cash flow and organising events.
Sandra was originally from the UK, where she had a broad range of experience in running her own businesses.
